ABSTRACT

[Abstract] Objective To investigate the correlation between well-being and psychological resilience, self-efficacy and social support in elderly patients with depression.
Methods Eighty-two elderly patients with depression from February 2021 to February 2024 were selected as observation subjects, and an observation group was set up. Include 80 older adults without depression who were paired with general information and set up a control group. Compare the General well-being scale (GWB) between the two groups. The GWB scores of the patients in the observation group were analyzed in relation to the Self-rating depression scale (SDS), the Connor-Davidson resilience scale (CD-RISC), the General self-efficacy scale (CD-RISC), General self-efficacy scale (GSES), and social support rating scale (SSRS).
Results The GWB scale worry about health, energy, life satisfaction, pleasant mood, emotional behavioral control, relaxation and tension scores and total scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). Spearman's correlation analysis showed that GWB scores were positively correlated with CD-RISC scores, GSES scores and SSRS scores, and negatively correlated with SDS scores (P<0.05).
Conclusion   Levels of well-being were lower in elderly depressed patients and were positively correlated with psychological resilience, self-efficacy, and social support, and negatively correlated with depressive mood.
